Royal

In order that we promote good practice in research and evaluation of
Telemedicine and Telecare, we are constantly striving to be a national resource
for the UK eHealth Telemedicine and Telecare community. We do this mainly by
providing a broad range of educational activities and opportunities for doctors,
dentists and veterinary surgeons, including students of these disciplines, and
for allied healthcare professionals. The Forum aims for the promulgation of good
practice in eHealth Telemedicine and Telecare through the provision of
workshops, academic meetings and awards and in so doing, help the Royal Society
of Medicine fulfil its strategic aims.

The Telemedicine Information Exchange (US) is based in Portland, Oregon at
the Telemedicine Research Center (TRC). It is funded by the National Library of

them to share information and experience; and to provide an information resource

UK
e-Health Association (UKeHA)
The UK e-Health Association (established
in April 1999 as the UK Telemedicine Association) was formed to represent
organisations and individuals interested in the development of e-Health in the
UK. The mission statement for the UKeHA is: ‘Campaigning for the effective use
of technology to improve health’. The association considers this statement to be
totally appropriate in that there is a major role to play in the UK for the
UKeHA to work closely with other health associations campaigning with a single
and consistent message to the DOH and central government, for the effective use
of technology to improve health.
