Confederation of eHealth Websites (CeW)

CeW (pronounced Q) provides a collaborative link between a number of websites involved in collating and disseminating information about e-health & telemedicine. Each member organisation contributes their unique perspective on e-health as well as hypertext links taking users to all other member organisations’ websites. This new venture aims to provide users of these sites with comprehensive and readily searchable access to telemedicine & e-health information at both national and international levels.

European Health Telematics Association (EHTEL)
EHTEL is a not-for-profit European Association, formed in 1998, in order to facilitate exchange and collaboration in the utilisation of telematics. Members are drawn from the different sectors involved in e-health: Healthcare authorities, Healthcare providers, Patient Associations, Healthcare Insurers, Researchers and industry.


The e-Health Innovation Professionals Group of IHM, ASSIST and BCS HIF
The group aims to improve health and healthcare by encouraging the successful introduction of appropriate e-health, telemedicine and telecare applications

NHS Direct Online
NHS Direct Online is a website providing high quality health information and advice for the people of England. It is uniquely supported by a 24-hour nurse advice and information and helpline

Royal College of Nursing (RCN) e-Health Group
The e-Health Group (an umbrella group of the Information in Nursing Forum) are working hard to try and pro-actively support and stimulate insight, understanding and ownership of e-health possibilities amongst nurses within each region, in the first instance by developing regional e-health groups. These groups will be actively supported by the central e-Health group and it is hoped very shortly will have access to web pages to share initiatives, advice and experiences. Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) Telemedicine & e-Health Forum
In order that we promote good practice in research and evaluation of Telemedicine and Telecare, we are constantly striving to be a national resource for the UK eHealth Telemedicine and Telecare community. We do this mainly by providing a broad range of educational activities and opportunities for doctors, dentists and veterinary surgeons, including students of these disciplines, and for allied healthcare professionals. The Forum aims for the promulgation of good practice in eHealth Telemedicine and Telecare through the provision of workshops, academic meetings and awards and in so doing, help the Royal Society of Medicine fulfil its strategic aims.

Telemedicine Information Exchange (TIE) Europe
TIE Europe is a comprehensive on-line ‘One-Stop Shop’ for all information relating to telemedicine and e-health based on clinical specialties and settings. Our ‘Toolkits’ or ‘How to do it’ guides enable practitioners to access easy, straightforward information for their practice. 


Telemedicine Information Exchange (TIE) US
The Telemedicine Information Exchange (US) is based in Portland, Oregon at the Telemedicine Research Center (TRC). It is funded by the National Library of Medicine and has been on the Web since 1995. It's most notable resource is a bibliographic database of over 12,500 citations to the literature of telemedicine, as well as conferences, vendors of equipment, active programs worldwide, a What's New column, and information on how to start a telemedicine program.

Telemedicine Information Service (TIS)
The objectives of TIS are to bring together those working in the field of telemedicine and telecare; to encourage them to share information and experience; and to provide an information resource on telemedicine activity in the UK. The Telemedicine Information Service, of which NDTM (National Database of Telemedicine) is part, is run by the University of Portsmouth. We also operate an email discussion list.

UK e-Health Association (UKeHA)
The UK e-Health Association (established in April 1999 as the UK Telemedicine Association) was formed to represent organisations and individuals interested in the development of e-Health in the UK.   The mission statement for the UKeHA is: ‘Campaigning for the effective use of technology to improve health’. The association considers this statement to be totally appropriate in that there is a major role to play in the UK for the UKeHA to work closely with other health associations campaigning with a single and consistent message to the DOH and central government, for the effective use of technology to improve health.
